Lakeshore Family Resources offers home visiting services to parents with young children. LFR Home Visiting Program collaborates closely with the Early Head Start Home Visiting Program to link parents with young children to home visiting services. LFR Home Visiting Program serves families who have children birth to age five who desire regular home visits.
What is home visiting?
LFR Home Visiting Program is a strength-based program that helps parents establish positive parent/child relationships and promotes healthy childhood growth and development by teaching positive parenting techniques, linking families with needed community resources, and supporting families in reaching their goals.
How do families get a home visitor?
| A. | A family calls Lakeshore Family Resources requesting home visiting. OR | |
| B. | LFR Outreach Specialists visit parents in the hospital and inform families about community resources. | |
| | Families who desire home visits are matched with a Family Support Worker or Family Visitor who sees the family based on the families needs or requests. | |
| | Family Support Workers may see a family until the child enters Kindergarten. Family Visitors may visit two or three times or may offer visits on a long-term basis. OR | |
| C. | A family requests that their health care provider links them with home visiting for support and parent education. | |
