Mission Statement
The mission of Lakeshore Community Action Program is to promote economic self-sufficiency and well-being of low-income persons through advocacy, community education, and resource development in Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties.
The Agency mission is to enable and empower all persons, parents and families through voluntary prevention education and support, intervention and treatment programs. Emphasis is placed on practices which promote strong service coordination, collaboration and comprehensive case management. To further this mission, activities are developed which fulfill the following primary needs:
Emergency Services for Basic Human Needs:
Provide emergency service to low income people to meet basic human needs of food and shelter
To provide a community resource for parent education, support and empowering family advocacy through direct service focusing on primary and secondary prevention, intervention and treatment.
To promote responsible behavior in youth by establishing responsibility and accountability for actions through mediation, restitution and community service, and enhance or expand prevention, early intervention or treatment alternatives to assure youth a more positive community environment.
Promote and develop affordable rental housing and home ownership opportunities for low-income persons through direct services, advocacy and community education regarding the housing needs of the low-income community.
Stimulate job and business development which afford low income persons greater opportunities for self-sufficiency through increased wage and benefit levels.
Promote safe, affordable, quality childcare in the communities we serve.
