YOUR STIMULUS PAYMENT BY DEBIT CARD

YOUR STIMULUS PAYMENT BY DEBIT CARD

MAILED IRS VISA DEBIT CARDS IN UNMARKED ENVELOPES ARE NOT JUNK OR A SCAM!

Nearly four million Americans were sent their government economic impact payment (EIP) by Visa-branded prepaid debit card instead of by paper check, according to the Internal Revenue Service. This is causing many to believe the unmarked envelopes with debit cards inside are junk mail or a scam.

Visit Consumer Action’s EIP debit card alert page for pertinent information, including:

  • Images of what the card looks like
  • What to do if you threw away your card
  • How to avoid fees when using the card
