NEW PROGRAM DIRECTOR FOR
LAKESHORE CAP’S JAK’S PLACE
Lakeshore CAP is pleased to announce Samuel Burris has been named JAK’s Place Program Director. In his role, Samuel oversees all mental health support programming at the facility. He will continue the tradition of working collaboratively with community partners to provide quality programming to those touched by mental illness. Samuel is a native of Door County with a passion for giving back to the community; therefore, we welcome him to our Lakeshore CAP team!
Mental Health Resource Center
The center works with those affected by mental illness and family members in need of support and information. JAK’s offers both structured and social activities Mon thru Fri, 1PM-5PM. For more information, see JAK’s Place Program or our Facebook page.

Job Summary
Lakeshore CAP, Inc. of Wisconsin is seeking a Respite Program Coordinator in our Manitowoc office. Respite is the provision of temporary care for foster children. The Respite Provider allows the child’s Foster Parents time away from fostering. The Respite Program Coordinator coordinates respite services between Foster Parents and Respite Providers.

A Fundraiser for Lakeshore CAP Family Development Programs and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of East-Central Wisconsin

Join us for a holiday event of fun, laughs and creativity! We begin with our jolly conductors aboard our own magical trolleys that start at Manitowoc Coffee for a joy ride to the Holiday Inn (North Pole) and includes a quick visit with a special guest, carols and holiday cheer. At the North Pole, there will be a holiday party complete with craft activities, refreshments, entertainment, story telling and more. The most exciting part of all — Santa has made time in his busy schedule to be there for the party and will be available for photos! (You will be able to take a trolley back to Manitowoc Coffee throughout the evening.)

**Children under 1 year of age can experience the event for free with the purchase of an adult ticket. You can purchase a $12 ticket for a child under 1 if you would like them to have a book of their own.

It makes it messy on both your end and ours — and your tickets will be cancelled!
You CAN purchase tickets without a PayPal account. When it asks for payment information, click on the pictures of the credit cards OR the PayPal logo. This will take you to another screen that asks you to log in to PayPal. Look just below the PayPal information. there is a grey button that says “Pay with credit/debit card.” (If you do not have a credit or debit card, you may call Lakeshore CAP at 920-682-3737 and leave your name and phone number; but we truly prefer you pay through Eventbrite.)
PLUS! The Manitowoc Holiday Inn is offering Friday and Saturday night hotel stays for $79/night to Magical Trolley ticket holders. Reservations must be made through the Holiday Inn and details are in the confirmation email you are sent after ordering tickets.
Come to the Magical Trolley Ride in Your Pajamas!
We encourage everyone, adults included, to come to the event in your pajamas. We are also encouraging the spirit of giving by asking families to gift a new pair of pajamas to be given to a child in need.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a fundraiser for CASA of East Central Wisconsin and Lakeshore CAP Family Development Programs. All proceeds will go to benefit vulnerable children in our service area. Tickets will NOT be refunded in the case of inclement weather and the event will NOT be rescheduled. Additionally, no ticket refunds will be offered for any reason. If you are unable to attend, you may give or sell your tickets to another party. By purchasing tickets you agree to these conditions.

LAKESHORE CAP – JAK’S PLACE PROGRAM DIRECTOR, STURGEON BAY IN DOOR COUNTY, WI
Full Time: 40 Hours/Week
JAK’s Place, a program of Lakeshore CAP that provides support groups and activities to its members, is seeking a full-time Program Director.
This position requires someone with the skills to work with community partners and funders to ensure that JAK’s programming meets the needs of the community and works to secure the funding necessary to carry out such programming. JAK’s Place is a drop-in social and resource center for anyone whose life has been affected in any way by mental illness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent and advocate for the program and agency as a whole with local community partners.
- Fundraise and establish donor relationships.
- Locate and apply for continuing funding for JAK’s Place and develop a plan for sustainable funding to meet the needs of JAK’s Place participants.
- Work with staff to formulate and schedule activities benefitting the clientele.
- Assemble the resources to support programs and activities with the assistance of Lakeshore CAP administrative staff.
- Responsible for maintenance of the physical assets of the program and keeping the facilities in good order.
- Recruit and chair a local Board of Advisors that have an interest in the programming of JAK’s Place.
- Collaborate with the Board of Advisors to develop a statement of need for the population served by the program.
- Develop collaborative relationships with other community partners and include them in program planning.
- Work with the Board of Advisors and Lakeshore CAP staff to maintain programming and institute new programming to serve the residents of Door County.
- Participate in Agency Management meetings with other team leaders.
- Gather data and develop reports for agency and program reporting purpose and grant writing.
- Supervise JAK’s Place program team members and assist them as necessary.
- Develop work plans with employees and work with them to achieve their goals.
- Seek out and facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to participant issues, seeking out practical and innovative solutions to problems presented.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures as necessary. Submit to Lakeshore CAP administrative staff for approval and adoption. Monitor and enforce these policies and procedures as necessary.
- Review and authorize department employee expense and travel requests/reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Degree from a four-year college or some college coursework and related work experience; preference will be given to those with a BA or equivalent degree and relevant work experience.
- Experience in grant preparation and administration.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle and be able to provide evidence of adequate insurance. Must be open to additional training as directed by management.

Salary
