Lakeshore CAP Grant for Homelessness Prevention

Lakeshore CAP Grant for Homelessness Prevention

HOME TBRA GRANT

Lakeshore CAP is proud to announce we have been awarded a grant for homelessness prevention — the HOME Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) grant from the State’s Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources to provide rental assistance to homeless families and individuals in Manitowoc, Door, Kewaunee, & Sheboygan counties. The purpose of TBRA is to allow low-income households the opportunity to afford a decent rental unit in the private housing market.

WHO MAY QUALIFY

Participants must meet the HUD HEARTH definition of homelessness, which means that households are literally homeless and either living in a shelter or a place not meant for human habitation.  Each participant will work with a case manager to develop a self-sufficiency plan to reach desired independence. All eligible applicants will receive an assessment and be placed on our Prioritization List. Preference is for those that are considered most vulnerable in our community. Rental units are selected by the participant and must pass a Housing Quality Standards Inspection.

APPLICATIONS

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. There are limited openings. Those who wish to apply may do so in person at any of our offices or call Lakeshore CAP at 920.682.3737 for information.
